Lubbock Power & Light ERCOT Integration
Northwest Texas
Principle Services has been assisting LP&L in their integration into the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (“ERCOT”) power grid. LP&L’s Transmission Integration Project includes forty miles of 69 kV to 115 kV transmission line upgrades, ten 69 kV to 115 kV substation upgrades, forty miles of Greenfield 115 kV transmission lines in urban environment, and three 345/115 kV Greenfield substations that require engineering, procurement, and construction. Due to the critical nature of the in-service date and reliability of associated projects, LP&L recognized the need for oversight on the execution of these assets. Our team provided the assurance needed for schedule adherence, cost prudency, quality in engineering, procurement, construction, and testing, and integration into the existing system.

2MW Battery Energy Storage System (BESS)
West Texas
Our team of project managers and inspectors provided seamless Greenfield BESS project execution from concept to close out. Project management and quality assurance support included site analysis (land acquisition support, surveys, layout and permitting feasibility, etc), management of engineering preliminary design process (RFP, selection, contract execution, review of proposed design), interconnection support (application, feasibility study, agreement execution), engineering oversight, construction RFP and contractor selection, procurement, construction, and testing. This successful project led to selection of our team to support an additional 100MW or more of 10MW battery projects.

115 kV Transmission Line Construction: Northwest-Mackenzie
Northwest Texas
This urban Greenfield project, approximately 10-mile 115kV transmission line interconnected with a newly constructed substation and two existing substations. Our team worked with the owner’s engineer in moving this project through engineering, right of way acquisition, procurement, construction and commissioning.

Substation Rebuild: Holly
Northwest Texas
Our operations team oversaw the material expediting, engineering coordination, and construction oversight to facilitate the connection of an existing 69kV substation to a new 115kV rated station. This project further involved the relocation and terminations of multiple transmission lines, installing a new control enclosure, and all auxiliary equipment required for tying the stations together. Our team focused on strict adherence to safety protocols and maintaining scope specifications to address the complex nature of this project.
